The Restorian

The king Charles II was the ruler of England until he died. He had many children so after he died his brother James II, a Roman Catholic became the Ruler of England. The people of England was upset and didn’t want him to be the ruler because it was rumors that the Roman Catholics set fire to London and caused many other disasters. The only way to get rid of a king or Queen back then was to behead them. The people couldn’t do that so instead they fled to France instead, this was the only other way that James II and his son wouldn’t be the ruler in the future.

I think that the event was so important because I would have been scared too. It’s also important because when rumors are spread people don’t know what to believe. If they wouldn’t have moved they would have been unhappy and scared for the rest of their lives and their offsprings would have to also deal with it. If they would have just beheaded them it would be wrong and they would probably get killed and start a lot of drama.

Satire means to attack someone with humor. It’s like making fun of someone or something to the point where it’s hilarious. It also could mean like to upset someone with foolishness and stupidity. A good example of Satire to me is The Martin show. I say that because he always embarrasses Pam by joining on her. He always talks about her looking like a horse and compares her to animals.

“A Modest Proposal” was about a man making fun of society by saying that people should sell, trade, or eat their babies. I didn’t like this idea because he was saying that mother’s and father’s struggle when a baby is born and that infants are helpless. He said that the only thing they would be useful for is a for a meal or for trading to make it easier on the parents. This is an example of satire because he is making fun of society.

I think that around this time it is most important that people are placed in a place where they can be comfortable and that the people there can make their own decisions about how they want to live. The glorious revolution was about how the people of a union parliament as well as the Dutch stadholder William III of Orange- Nassau overthrew King James II of England. A result of that was that it ascended the English throne as William III of England. Some of the things they did back then are still going on now.
